Random pictures of the little ones

Looking cute on a Sunday.

We usually play at the park everyday for an hour after we say goodbye to the others at school.  Karlee has all sorts of tricks.  Damon LOVES the slide.  Luckily he has lots of brothers and sisters who LOVE to take him.

Yesterday we went to a park with the ward playgroup.  It is called Statue of Liberty Park.  Who knew it was in Japan?!

Karlee like climbing the stairs over and over.

Karlee loves to play dress up these days.  Tutus or fancy clothes, jewelry and purses, shoes and fancy hair.  She loves it all.

Back to the Beach again

Our latest weekend adventure took us to a beautiful swimming beach about an hour away.  It doesn't compare to the sand and water we left but it was super nice for here.  We loved being in the sand again and listening to the waves.  We went with some of our other favorite friends and loved sitting on the beach visiting while the kids were in heaven playing at the beach.  Damon was so happy and content to be in the sand again.  It is the life he has always known!  Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that because I never take my camera to the sand with us.

These first pictures are from an island called "Seagull Island" .  I guess at certain times it is FULL of eggs and nests of seagulls.  You have to have an umbrella...but not for the rain.  Luckily, it isn't the season for that so we enjoyed the view with no umbrellas.

A Shinto shrine.  This is where they wash their hands then ring a bell and clap.  Then they pray and write down their prays to hang up.  Interesting.

This is the beach we enjoyed.

Makelle found these shells at the beach and came home and turned them in to dangling earrings.

Every weekend we like to take off and explore somewhere.  One of our favorite families here invited us to go see some wild horses.  It sounded exciting so we took off.  It was about a 2.5 hour drive which means it is only about 60 miles away.  John and I loved the drive because everything is so interesting.  This drive was beautiful as we followed the coast.  We ended up at the Northern most tip of mainland Japan.  It was like nothing you would believe.  There are wild horses right next to the ocean.  They are HUGE!  They are like clydesdales but shorter.  So basically short and big.  Luckily the markets here sale HUGE carrots so we were prepared to feed them.  The kids liked feeding them for the most part....unless they forgot a carrot was in their hand and a horse was coming after them to get it.  Then they thought they were being chased! They were really nice...kind of scary though when you are right next to a lot of them and remember they are wild.

Here is Lantz showing how big the carrots are here.

It was a beautiful day with great company.  We hiked around for a bit.  Walked the coast to look for treasures.  We ended up with two crate things that we are using for shelves now!  We had a picnic and listened to the waves.  Japan continues to amaze us.
