SPRING BREAK!!!

This week was John's spring break! We were so excited to have him home for the whole week! Monday he went to school to get ahead on a few things and then spent the evening with us. On Tuesday we got out of the house long enough to go to an egg hunt at the mall which was fun. We got the kids loaded in the car and life got crazy. Zak was crying like crazy because his ear hurt and both him and Makelle had fevers! Let's just say it has been a LONG week! But John can't say he didn't get to spend time with the kids! This is what it looked like most of the week!

So far Lantz has fared well! We got to enjoy some of the sunny weather together while the others were inside watching movies! Apparently Zak has had a double ear infection for three weeks now and Makelle has strep! We had to take Zak back into the Dr. this week after his first antibiotic didn't work. For a couple of weeks now he hasn't been listening good or he acts like he can't hear. I have been giving him a hard time, but then it started to get really bad. John noticed it too so we tried holding a hand in front of our mouths to see if he could hear us talking. He couldn't! We put both Makelle and Lantz in a room with the door shut with them yelling and playing. Zak stood by the door and said it sounded like they were both asleep! Scary--But the Dr. says the ear infection is still there and that is what is causing it so we hope it will get better. I feel bad I have been getting mad at him for the last few weeks and it isn't his fault! John and I laugh because it feels like we are talking to an old deaf person because we have to yell right next to him and we still have to do it several times!

We did have good moments when the Tylenol was working and we tried to make the most of it. When Makelle was sick Zak and I built towers with marshmallows and toothpicks. Then John made a volcano out of salt dough and we all got to watch it erupt!
I love this little girl's smile!
Lantz is so proud to get himself up on the little chairs all by himself.
John gave Lantz another hair cut last week isn't so grown up!!
Yesterday was a beautiful day and so in the afternoon when the medicine was working and the kids were having a good moment we got out of the house. We finally got to go to the park and it was wonderful! We all needed it and we had a great time there. Lantz loved being able to play in the rocks and finally I just let him eat them!
They were so tasty!
Zak was appalled that I would just sit there and let Lantz eat rocks. Don't I know that he could choke. Yes, I do, but it just wasn't worth the fight anymore. He would do it just because I would say no, the little stink. He would always spit them out after he tasted them so go for it Bud!

Makelle LOVES her Dad. She is so happy when he is around. She never wanted me to cuddle her or hold her or watch a movie. JUST DAD! It was the same for the swing!

I wasn't doing the spider good enough, (because I had Lantz and Zak) so Zak had to have a turn with Dad too!
Makelle was showing off her rock cakes with stick candles!
Makelle has been fascinated with ballerinas lately. She gets books from the library about ballerinas and then she tries to do their moves. On this day she was wearing anything pink and ballerina she could find and Zak doesn't like being left out!

I think this was the longest gap in blog updating history! Life was boring and then it was crazy so not much to update for a while. Now there is lots to update!

Zak-Is learning all of his letters and their sounds! He figures most of them out himself and can choose his own words and tell me what they start with! It is so exciting! He is very good at coloring, drawing and writing words. He also got accepted to the Montessori in New Albany so now we really need to be making a decision about Kindergarten! He knows the first three articles of faith and is anxious to bear his testimony by saying the articles of faith!!!

Makelle-Is in love with her Sunbeam teacher. She idolizes the women and tries to do her hair and nails just like her! She also knows the first article of faith. She is very good at ballerina tricks and she can teach them to you too! She loves her daddy, shoes, clothes, makeup and nail polish. No change in that part of the update.

Lantz-can walk he just doesn't. The little stink will go about four or six steps then smile and get on his knees! He loves to go outside and he loves elephants. He is learning all of the animal sounds and parts of his body. He loves to kiss Zak and Makelle when they are sick, he really puckers up! He loves candy and he loves to play hide and seek!

Me-I have been taking a parenting class ( I know it is much needed and a little late)! My kids are awesome but I know I have much to improve if I expect to have them be the best they can be. You will be glad to know I am working on the yelling, bossiness, and empathy. I have the tough love part down good but the nice stuff I really need to work on! Wish me luck! I am also going to Institute when I don't have other meetings and I am loving it. It is such an underutilized program and I am glad to be able to take advantage most weeks. I also helped to start a Bunko group and I love having a fun night out!! I just got a job babysitting a 15 month old boy three days a week. We know it is an answer to our prayers. John has been looking for a graveyard job but this will work out great. It's not a lot but it is just what we need and we can still have family time together. The lord truly is mindful of us. Thanks Jodie for recommending us! To all my friends reading this I still get to have play dates so don't think we are off limits! What is one more kids when you already have three! I also officially
consented to go to Girls camp in June. It is a week long, anyone want to come visit and babysit???? Oh, and I can't forget to mention that for the first time in my life I have exercised six days a week for 9 weeks now!!! I am so going to win the Utah contest. I haven't gotten any results yet, but I haven't missed a day! (Sorry my personal update was so long but it is my blog so I can do what I want and I know at least my family cares!!)

John-Is still doing great in school and loving it most days! He just got called as Second Counselor in our branch. It was unexpected but he will do great. It will be exciting to see him in this leadership position. It is very much out of his comfort zone and in very unknown territory. I am grateful that he is worthy and willing to accept the call. I know many blessing will be ahead and I am excited for what those blessings will bring into our life. (One so far, a job for me!) No need to worry anyone we will still be going to Utah in July!!

Today Zak was doing tons better so after we got some Tylenol in Makelle we headed to the zoo. The kids have wanted to go all week but they were miserable. We went for a couple of hours and had a great time. The sun has been shining all weekend and I love it. I am so excited for spring and to play outside. It is so beautiful and fun here in the spring and summer. So bring on SPRING!!! WE ARE READY!!

In a nutshell life is great! We are happy, healthy (most of the time), and have everything we need. Life really can't get any better than that!

A REAL SNOW STORM

We finally got what I would call a snow storm and we were so excited. Of course everything shut down for a few days so John was home one day and helped to build a snow fort.
My little Angels!

Fun stuff! It was worth actually getting bundled up to play in and it covered the grass completely so the kids were thrilled. Unfortunately the hut hasn't melted so we get to go out and play in it everyday!

I love these guys!

Makelle and I had a date and we bought her some fake nails at the dollar store. We glued them on and she was amazed. To say she loved them would be an understatement.Makelle was so proud to have tickle back fingers and we all loved them too!

She walked around with her hands like this most of the day, oh she is cute!
We had a duck find its way to our garage and then to our back porch. The kids loved it and tried to feed it things through the glass!
My early risers are so happy!
This little guy got a hold of one of the markers and decided to eat the whole tip! It sure looks like it must have been good.
These two don't love each other at all!
Lantz has learned to do tricks and he loves it. It is super cute! We say Lantz do tricks on your head and this is what he comes up with.
What a cutie!
We got to go to a Valentine party and the kids got some in the mail from cousins so they were enjoying their treats!
Makelle in her pink shirt for Valentines!
She is all into outfits so she loves to have her picture taken.

They love to get Daddy!
I love this kid and how he stares out the window and wonders about the world.
Two sillies and their tricks!
Happy Valentines Day!
Zak trying to lift Lantz on the couch but giving him a melvin instead!
These kids have so much fun together these days I just love it!
I thought there must have been a really good piece of candy under there and Lantz just couldn't get it so Zak was going to help. It turned out to just be a battery, poor Lantz was so disappointed.
Lantz laying on the beanbag waiting for Zak to come tickle him!!

My Baby is 1!!

I can't believe Lantz is ONE!! This year has flown by and it is crazy to think this little guy is one. It makes me sad and happy all at the same time. Everyone says it, but they do grow up too fast. David and Valynn came for a visit during his birthday so we had a great time. His birthday wasn't anything big, it actually got pushed into twenty minutes and it was done. Oh well he didn't know any different and I'll do better next time. He loved his gifts and played with his cupcake a little and then it was time for bed.

I don't know if Lantz is more excited about the pop up toy or if I am. I guess I had forgotten I had gotten such a great gift for him!
I think this toy won but that is ok because it was from the all of his favorites (us)!
Zak and Makelle were extra good helpers when it came to opening his presents.
Messy but not tooo messy!
Happy Birthday Lantz Pants!! Oh how we love you!!

We had a great visit with David and Valynn but I didn't capture any of it. I had vacation while they were here and that included no pictures! I got to stay in bed and do my own thing in the mornings, exercise, and shower all before noon. It was a great vacation! We were all very excited to have them visit. Lantz didn't even need time to warm up to them so that really made their day. In fact Lantz and David were best buds the whole time! We got to eat out lots with them so that was great. I am not sure if they don't like my cooking or if they were really trying to be nice and not have me cook, but either way it worked out good for me.

Fun time with the crazies!

We get tired of being stuck inside so we decided to bring the outside toys in! It gave us hours of entertainment. Once again it is great to have the big kids doing all the work!
Makelle loves showing off all of her tricks!

Lantz really wanted to show off his tonsils. Can you see them? He does this face all the time and I can't get enough of it. It reminds me of when Zak used to do it all the time!
What a cute silly kid, he loves his glasses!
Here is one more shot of the tonsils if you didn't see the first time!
Cute, Cute, and more Cute!!!!

Best Buds!! (Most of the time)
